Three reasons DHS Pokémon video is nonsensical.
The DHS has poorly used Pokémon clips and its theme song to compare anime to serious law enforcement actions, confusing viewers.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just dropped a video mixing clips from the Pokémon anime with footage of agents making arrests, all set to that iconic English theme song. Now, that’s a wild mash-up showing some serious misunderstanding. First off, DHS is all about anti-terrorism and border control, and comparing their work to a kid's cartoon is just plain silly. If they're trying to communicate a serious message, they're failing big time because it trivializes real threats.
Then there's the tagline “Gotta catch ‘em all.” Yes, Pokémon Trainers catch Pokémon, but the stakes are way different. When the DHS catches criminals, they face consequences like imprisonment or deportation. Pokémon, on the other hand, form bonds with their Trainers. No Trainer is celebrating a catch by thinking, “Great! I get to ship this out!” Plus, using Pokémon clips without permission not only risks the ire of The Pokémon Company, who fiercely protects their brand, but it just misses the mark completely. It’s a bizarre choice that deserves some serious second-guessing.
