Razer is creating an AI holographic anime waifu.

Razer’s Project Ava is shifting gears for 2026, moving from a bulky setup to a sleek 5.5-inch holographic anime character you can pop on your desk. With options to interact with Kira, a cute anime waifu in a green dress, or Zane, a bulked-up dude, these avatars are set to engage with you on a whole new level. They track your screen and your face for a more personalized gaming experience.

During my demo, Kira kicked things off with a cheerful "Wow! New face at the Razer booth?" It felt a bit robotic, though she was trying to charm me with lines like "I’m the prettiest, just for you." As I tried to get advice while playing Battlefield 6, Kira’s responses were vague and often interrupted with unnecessary chatter, making the whole interaction feel awkward. Razer’s hype about Project Ava may be ahead of its time, especially when gamers are becoming increasingly wary of AI. In the end, it seems Razer's vision for the future might turn out to be more sad and lonely than they’d hoped.
