Japan's first hotel features a human washing machine for bathing.
Japan's Dotonbori Crystal Hotel has introduced the "Future Human Washing Machine," a luxurious automated bathing experience for guests.
Welcome to the future, my friends! We aren't just living in the present anymore; we're officially in the future with Japan's first-ever Future Human Washing Machine. Developed by a bath fixture company, the Mirai Ningen Sentakki made waves at the Expo 2025, and here’s how it works: you hop in this pod, close the canopy, and just chill. While you’re soaking in soapy water, you’re treated to soothing tunes and tranquil visuals. When it's done, you’re rinsed off without lifting a finger.
Now, the Dotonbori Crystal Hotel III in Osaka is the first to offer this experience. For 18,000 yen (about $118), you can rent a private room with the washing machine, sauna, and lounge space for 90 minutes, accommodating up to four people. Just remember, the machine only fits one bather at a time. And if that doesn't sound relaxing enough, there’s even ice-cold beer on the menu. Six sessions a day are up for grabs, so you better grab your spot online before they’re all soaked up!
