Listen up! There’s an event that’s gonna hit you right in the nostalgia button. The Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute is throwing an exhibit called “What’s JDM? The Global Craze of Japanese Cars in the ’80s and ’90s” from October 3, 2025 to April 5, 2026. Back in the day, Japanese cars were like the underdogs that came out swinging, with some seriously fuel-efficient rides during the oil crisis. And the style? The JDM scene blew up with cars that performed like beasts!

Now, they’re showcasing legends split into three categories. First up are State-of-the-Art Technologies featuring icons like the ’89 Daihatsu Charade and ’91 ɛ̃fini RX-7. Next is Unique Designs with quirky beauties like the ’89 Nissan Pao. Lastly, we got Compact with High Performance, showing off little monsters like the ’95 Suzuki Cappuccino. And don’t fret if you miss your fave; the lineup changes, plus there’s a classic car meet on November 29.
