Disillusioned by Tsukiji's high prices, we found a great ramen restaurant in Tokyo.
Mr. Sato discovers affordable ramen amidst rising sushi prices in Tsukiji, finding delicious options at Menya Nobunaga Shogun.
Mr. Sato dodged the pricey sushi scene to uncover a hidden gem: a delicious bowl of ramen for just 600 yen. With the Chinese government’s travel advisory making waves, he headed to Tsukiji, a neighborhood known for its culinary prowess. Upon arrival, he noticed the crowd was still bustling, despite the slowdown in foreign tourists. The restaurants, however, had shifted to cater to deeper pockets, with prices for a decent sushi bowl now hovering around 2,400 to 3,500 yen.
Feeling the pinch, Mr. Sato stumbled upon Menya Nobunaga Shogun, where ramen was still affordable. The Nobunaga Ramen was a steal at 600 yen, and it didn’t skimp on quality. With a rich 48-hour broth and expertly crafted noodles, this ramen was anything but ordinary. The best part? On the first of every month, it’s only 500 yen! If you find yourself in Tsukiji and sick of sky-high sushi prices, this spot is definitely worth a visit.
